Move Jobs to another Project

Modified on Thu, 5 Nov at 3:59 PM

If a Job has been booked against the wrong Project, you can move it to a different Project. The Job keeps its bookings and costs, and takes on the details of the new Project.

To move a Job to another Project, you will need the permissions /changeJobProject and /saveJob:

  1. Open the Job
  2. In the Job header, click into the Project # field
  3. Select the Project you want to move the Job to
  4. Click Save

Please Note: the Project # list is filtered by the Project Type and Product currently on the Job. If the Project you want is not listed, clear or change those fields to widen the search. The new Project does not need to be under the same Client, Product or Project Type.

What can't be moved

Job StatusCosted, Sent to Accounts, No Charge or Cancelled

What happens to the Job

QuoteThe Job's current Quote is replaced. Depending on your settings, it will be set to the new Project's Primary Quote or left blank. The Job's bookings are re-linked and re-priced against the new Quote.
PricingIf you move a Job to a different Client or Product, a warning will tell you that service prices may be wrong. Check the Services on the Job afterwards, or remove and re-add them.
Related recordsMedia Assets, Despatches, Purchase Orders and Misc Costs move with the Job. Notes stay on the original Project.

To move all Jobs from one Quote to another within the same Project, see Move Jobs to another Quote. To move a Media Asset, see Move Media Asset to Another Project.
