Share Quote Data to Another CETA Client

Bid sections may be exported to a file, for the purpose of being imported into another companies iCFM system. This can be useful for sister companies who may want to bid for different parts of a project separately, but initially create the bid in one system. Contact CETA to enable quote data sharing between clients.


Export

To perform an export, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Quote you want to export
  2. Click Menu > Export
  3. Select the section(s) you wish to export
  4. Enter a passcode (the downloaded file is encrypted and requires the passcode to decrypt it)
  5. Check boxes to include or exclude Covering letter, Section Comments, and Line-Item Comments in the export
  6. Enter additional comments (optional)
  7. Click Export
  8. Choose Save to download the file


Import

Sections may be imported into a bid, via a file exported using the method described above. There are two ways to import into a bid, as follows.


Method 1: Import Sections into Bid

This method will import selected sections from the file into the bid, including the associated detail rows.

To perform an import, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Quote you want to import data to
  2. Click + Section on the right-hand side of the edit section
  3. Click Import section(s) from file and a pop-up window will appear
  4. Click Browse and select the file to import
  5. Enter the passcode provided with the export file
  6. Click Next
  7. Choose Import at top or Import at bottom, to specify where the imported section(s) should go
  8. Select the section(s) you wish to export
  9. Check Import covering letter if you wish to import the covering letter from the original export file (This will be merged with the existing covering letter (if present), at the position specified in Step 7)
  10. Under Map Services, select a Rate Card Service for each item that does not have a Local Service present (Use the Rate Card descriptions to better determine which services match your local options)
  11. Click Import and the sections & associated detail rows will be added to the Quote


Method 2: Import Details into Bid Section

This method will import all detail rows from within the selected sections in the file into the selected section.

  1. Open the Quote you want to import data to
  2. Identify the Quote section to want to import data to
  3. Click the Import icon (document with green up arrow) and a pop-up window will appear
  4. Click Browse and select the file to import
  5. Enter the passcode provided with the export file
  6. Click Next
  7. Select the section(s) containing the detail rows you wish to export
  8. Check Import covering letter if you wish to import the covering letter from the original export file
  9. Under Map Services, select a Rate Card Service for each item that does not have a Local Service present (Use the Rate Card descriptions to better determine which services match your local options)
  10. Click Import and the sections & associated detail rows will be added to the Quote section


Please Note: The Rate Card values (and Discount %) are not included in the export data, therefore are set accordingly during import.
