Custom Fields Editor

Modified on Mon, 21 Jul at 11:36 AM

Use this tool to add custom fields to iCFM records (Company, Contact, Project, Quote, Job, or Library). These fields will appear on the header (top half of the page) and help you to save extra information against the entity. Each entity can have as many custom fields as you desire.

Please Note:

  • You cannot delete or rename fieldnames after adding them

  • You can hide fields if they’re no longer needed

  • All changes apply only to the entity you selected (e.g. Company fields don’t appear on Contact pages)

To Add a Custom Field:

  1. Menu > Admin Options
  2. Open Custom Field Editor
  3. Select the Entity where you want your new field to appear (e.g. Company, Contact, Job)

  4. Click Add Field

  5. Enter a Caption - the Fieldname will auto-fill based on your Caption.

  6. Check the Fieldname has been generated as expected — it can’t be changed later.

  7. Choose a Type from the dropdown:

  8. Set layout options:

  9. Add a Default value

  10. Tick Mandatory

  11. Click Save

Please Note: To remove a Custom Field click the red X icon next to the field
