User Permissions are the tools that allow or deny access to features and capabilities within the application. Without these permissions, every feature in iCFM is locked, and to access each part of the software, you need the key (permissions).
You can either set permissions for individual Users or, if a whole team will have the same permissions, you can set the permissions User Groups. By default, you will have several User Groups for you such as Runners, Producers, Admin, Finance. You can put your Users into those Groups, and they will inherit the permissions set for the Group.
You can toggle permissions for a Group, or a specific User for each function within iCFM.
To update User/Group Permissions:
- Menu > Admin Options > User Information
- Complete search fields (optional)
- Click Search
- Select the User/Group ID
- The User/Group page will open in a new tab
- Click Access Codes
- The Access Codes page will open in a new tab
- The current status will be visible under the Group/User header
- Click to toggle permissions from Approved to Denied to Inherited
- All changes are automatically saved
- The User must log out and back in to the changes to be picked up
Please Note: Group permissions will be overridden by User permissions. For example, if a Group a User belongs to Denies permission to save a Job, but the User's specific profile Allows that same permission, the User WILL be able to save a Job.
Group | User | |
---|---|---|
Approved | Users in this group, will have this permission Approved by default | User Permission will be Approved over and above Group Permissions |
Denied | Users in this group, will have this permission Denied by default | User Permission Denied over and above Group Permissions |
Inherited/Unset | Users in this group, will have this permission Denied by default | User will inherit the Groups permissions |
