3 Tier Buy-Rates
The 3 Tier system allows you to record estimated buy-rates against each service in your Rate Card, so you can calculate an approximate profit margin at the bidding stage before any resources are allocated. This is useful when you may not yet know exactly which artists you'll use, but have a sense of the level required.
Most clients use the three tiers to represent different Artist levels:
- Tier 1 = Junior
- Tier 2 = Mid
- Tier 3 = Senior / Freelance
Setting up your Tier Buy-Rates
Your estimated buy-rates are entered against each service in your Rate Card. To populate them:
- Go to Menu > Admin Options > Rate Card
- Click Search to display your Rate Card services
- Enter your estimated buy-rates in the T1, T2 and T3 columns against each service
Using Tiers on a Quote
The T1, T2 and T3 columns appear on each service row in your Quote. The value entered represents the quantity being provided at that tier level - for example, T1=1, T3=1 for one junior and one senior artist. Rolling over a tier value will show you the cost and currency for that tier and service. The financial side panel (green arrow, top right of the Quote) gives a further breakdown of your Quote financials.
Viewing Margins on the Project
These values feed into the Staff Cost and Margin columns in the Quote summary. We recommend keeping Style F open on the Project ribbon to track Bid, Booked and Completed Margin alongside each other.
Please Note: The Tier columns may need to be enabled on your account. Please contact CETA if you cannot see them.
