From the Schedule, it is possible to split a single Job that spans multiple days, weeks, or months, into smaller, individual Jobs. For example, if you book a Job lasting several weeks or months as one Job, it will have one Job ID, and the date or resource on that Job can be changed easily. This is ideal if the Job is not confirmed and the details could change. Once the Job is confirmed or the start date of the Job has been reached, it is recommended that you split the Job down into months, weeks or days. This means that you would be able to make changes in more detail, such as switch the artist one day, remove weekends or days taken as holiday from the schedule.
When booking Jobs that take place over a longer period of time, we recommend that you initially keep these as one Job and then split the Job once the start date gets closer. Once you split a Job up, each smaller Job will have a Job ID.
To split a Job in the Schedule:
- Open the Schedule
- Right-click the Job you wish to split
- Hover over Split Job to reveal the sub menu
- Select one of the split options (see below)
Split Option | Description |
---|---|
Days | This will split the Job into day long Jobs |
Weeks (Mon-Fri) | This will split the Job into (working) week long Jobs, from Monday to Friday |
Months | This will split the Job into month long Jobs |
Separate first day | This will split the Job into two Jobs; one day at the start, and the remainder starting on the following day |
Fill non-conflicting gaps | This only applies if Job is in a conflicting position with other Jobs. The Job will be divided into Jobs which fill the gaps between existing Jobs in the same period |
Once a Job has been split into days, the individual days will now start and end at your default times so you will need to use the Lasso tool to select and set the correct start and end times. You can choose from the standard iCFM preset times (i.e. AM, PM and full day) or you can choose to fit the Jobs into fractions of the day.
